Teach Your Patients Posture/Organs:

As you know, spinal corrective rehabilitation is based on posture. Posture is a global concept involving the whole spine, not just the area of the patient’s primary complaint. This teaches the patient there is a global effect on their health, not just pain. Patients will pay MORE for their overall health than pain.

They also have specific health conditions that concern them more and have a far greater emotional attachment to than others. For instance, when you perform the Elite 4 step Consultation on Day #1 effectively, you will know how to lead your patients to reveal their highest priority health concern. To your surprise, it is most commonly NOT the condition they came in to see you for. They came in to you for a symptom causing them pain, yet they may or may not be seeing someone else for another condition they have a far greater concern for. Our job is to teach them they don’t have to see many different doctors for each condition, but address the underlying cause of their overall health status, a weakened and distorted spinal structure. Many of those health conditions will resolve when their spinal structure is corrected.

Our job is to teach them to teach others the lifestyle of posture/organs and how they are both closely inter-related. On Day #1 during the exam, we are going to relate the organ problems we gathered in the consultation and relate them to their postural distortions we find in the exam. Because you have begun to master the Elite consultation, you know which organ/health conditions they have an emotional charge to. Correlate their associated postural distortion affecting the nerves in the area of their spine related to that organ. For instance, a high shoulder may relate to their heart or lung condition (i.e. asthma, blood pressure, recurrent coughs). A rotated pelvis may relate to lower digestive or reproductive problems (i.e. diarrhea/constipation, menstrual problems, sexual dysfunction).

On the re-exam and daily visit, evaluate and monitor the progression of that particular postural distortion and relate it to their organ condition on their symptom survey recommended in the Elite re-exam. Remind them to monitor that same postural distortion in the mirror at home and the effect the home rehab is having on that distortion.

This is the key to retention. They will come to you until their posture is corrected because they want to be healthy, not just to feel good and leave when their pain is gone.

Once they understand these principles, teach them to read posture in other people. Now, every high shoulder looks like heart and lung problems. A rotated pelvis looks like digestive problems. Teach them the Elite system of “3 Ways to Refer” and get new patients coming to see you for the right reasons, they want to improve their overall health.
